WORD WORK: Our class will learn to read and spell words with the schwa sound spelled with o and e like in the words above, blossom, parrot, telephone, and system.

  

MARCH IS READING MONTH FINAL RESULTS:  

MATH: Our second graders will be completing Unit 6 soon. The skills and concepts in this unit are ones that will need to be revisited often to help solidify students’ understanding. The following link explains what your children have been learning during this unit. 

Family Support Letter.  Try it at home! Near the end of the unit, ask your student to do the following tasks:

Find different shapes around the house (bonus points for finding

non-traditional shapes!).

Tell time on an analog clock.

Pull out some coins and determine the value of the coin combination.

Questions that may be helpful as they work:

How did you know it was (shape name)?

How did you determine the time?

What kind of coin is this? How much is it worth?

How did you figure out the total value of the coin combination?
