WORD WORK: Our class will be learning to read and write words that have common sounds with different spelling patterns including the /air/ sound spelled ere, ear, air, and are. Such as there, wear, flair, and carefully.
MARCH IS READING MONTH: Keep on Reading! Reading Month is here! Students have been introduced to our bracket of books for this month as fiction goes up against nonfiction with some very fun titles. During the last week of March, students will have a chance to vote for their favorites to see who the winner will be. This is a great opportunity for reading.
READING: We began a brand new module in reading this past week. Innovator, builds student’s understanding of invention and scientific method. Students explore informational and narrative texts to learn about innovations and the people who created them in order to understand how a person can impact their community.
MATH: Shapes, Equal Parts, Time, and Money “Oh, my!” Unit 6 in math is filled with many skills and concepts second graders need to know. These skills are more meaningful for students when applied to real life situations.
