WORD WORK: Our class will be learning to read and write words with common affixes such as en-, em-, ex-, and new words with the schwa sound, /ə/, spelled with a .  The following words are examples: enable, embrace, expression, around, amaze, comma, and panda. DRESS UP DAYS: Our school has dress up days this week.  Please note the 2nd grade is going to switch two of the days because of our field trip to Sarett. Monday-Light Bright Day! Please return all books.     2/26   We have art.      2/27   We have a half day.  End of 2nd Trimester WORD WORK: Our class will be learning multisyllabic words this week with closed, open, VCe, r-controlled, vowel team, and consonant-le syllable types.  Some examples of these words are office, stumble, apartment, and downtown. SARETT FIELD TRIP: Our second graders will be traveling to Sarett Nature Center on March 5th in the morning from  9:00-11:30.  We will be learning about maple sugaring and need to dress for the weather.  Parents are welcome to join us at Sarett but there is an admission fee.  Please email me if you are planning to ...
